Our Reception class is called Pine, Miss Yates is the class teacher and Ms Hatton is the full time Teaching Assistant in Pine.
Pine classroom is our largest classroom and has a lovely view of Forest School. It has its own cloak area and purpose built toilets. The classroom is connected to a large covered outdoor area which is used everyday for our pupils to explore their learning.
The children have Forest School sessions on a rota basis for three half-terms across the year.
We are always happy to show prospective parents and pupils around our fabulous setting, to arrange a visit please telephone the school office.
A message for Pine children - July 2020...
It only seems like 5 minutes since you were starting school in Pine Class. Now it's time to think about moving up into Willow Class. Your new teacher will be Miss Taylor and she is really looking forward to meeting you all in September. Unfortunately we can't have our usual 'move up' day but instead Miss Taylor has posted a short video to introduce herself on your ClassDojo page and an activity in your portfolio section where you can tell her all about you. The children in Yellow Bubble will do this with Miss Yates but if you are at home or in another bubble you can bring it with you when we return to school in September.
From Monday 8th June we are moving to a trust home learning offer for all children working at home. This is due to most staff now being back in school every day and teaching small groups of children therefore reduced capacity to plan and feedback to individuals at home as regularly as they have been.
This home learning planning has been written by a team of staff from across the trust who are shielding and therefore unable to be on site.
You can still send your work to me using Class Dojo but please bear in mind that I may not to be able to respond as regularly as previously.
If you want to talk to a teacher on the Home Learning Team about the work or have any questions we have set up a Facebook page (Rivers Home Learning) which you can message and is monitored each day from 9am-3pm. If you do not use Facebook, you can email firstname.lastname@example.org and they will respond as soon as possible.
I am so impressed with how hard you have been working at home Pine Class. You have made me so very proud. Home learning is so important but so is having a rest and enjoying other things like playing outside and having fun! So this week, as it is half term, there is only one activity to try. It's the same for each class so if you have brothers or sisters you could work together. It is also a MAT activity so lots of other children will be giving it a go - there are even certificates and badges for those of you who take part.
I can't wait to see your rainbow!
Have a lovely week and stay safe everyone!
