Our Year 1 pupils are taught in the lovely, octagonal shaped classroom at the rear of the school and Miss Taylor is the Year 1 class teacher. All of our classes are named after trees, the Year 1 class is called 'Willow'. The class is supported by our experienced, teaching assistants - Mrs Ranford and Mrs Walton.
Year 1 have Forest School on a rota basis, for three half-terms across the year.
Please contact the school office if you are interested in a place in Year 1, we would be delighted to show you around.
From Monday 8th June we are moving to a trust home learning offer for all children working at home. This is due to most staff now being back in school every day and teaching small groups of children therefore reduced capacity to plan and feedback to individuals at home as regularly as they have been.
This home learning planning has been written by a team of staff from across the trust who are shielding and therefore unable to be on site.
You can still send your work to me using Class Dojo but please bear in mind that I may not to be able to respond as regularly as previously.
If you want to talk to a teacher on the Home Learning Team about the work or have any questions we have set up a Facebook page (Rivers Home Learning) which you can message and is monitored each day from 9am-3pm. If you do not use Facebook, you can email rainbow@riverscofe.co.uk and they will respond as soon as possible.
Hello Willow Class
Thank you so much for all your hard work over the past few weeks you have made me very proud. Home learning is important but so is having a rest and enjoying other things like playing outside and having fun so this week, as it is half term, there is only one activity to try. It's the same for each class so if you have brothers and sisters you could work on it together. It is also a MAT activity so lots of other children will be giving it a go- there are even certificates and badges for those of you who take part.
I can't wait to see your rainbow
Have a lovely week everyone. Mrs Ramsey
Hi Willow Class
Please find below the home learning for the first week of the Summer term. The activities are organised into 3 clear groups; English, Maths and Topic with a powerpoint for each. Please remember only do as much as you can and that these activities are only a guide. I have put an example of a timetable that you might want to follow which also includes a link to 'Phonics Play' who have kindly given free access to their resources. I have also added a story to the Storytime section of the website.
Take care and keep safe.
Mrs Ramsey
Hi Willow Class
I hope you are all keeping well. Normally during this last week of term we would have been thinking about Easter. We would have learnt the Easter story, made Easter cards and crafts and sung my favourite song about a Spring Chicken.

Below are some activities that you may want to complete over the next two weeks. Please remember these are just ideas and you don't have to do them all. Hopefully the weather will stay nice and you can play outside and go for walks.
Eddie Teddy is missing you all. Stay safe and keep washing your hands.
Happy Easter
From Mrs Ramsey
Thank you to one of our Year 6 children who shared this great time capsule activity. What a great way to spend some of your time at home creating this over the Easter break. Why don't you have a try!
