Let Your Light Shine and Be Extraordinary

Our Curriculum Vision:

Children are at the heart of all we do. We are all passionate about ensuring our children achieve the best outcomes and develop a love of learning which lasts a lifetime.

We share a culture of collaboration and our team of highly skilled staff work passionately to create inspiring learning opportunities and improve life chances for all.

Our aim is to ensure that each and every child leaves us fulfilling their maximum potential and ready for the next stage of their learning. We remain committed to ensuring that our pupils value education and become lifelong learners.

Our vision statement is:

Let your light shine and be extraordinary

Through an extraordinary education, we empower pupils to be life-long learners and see their limitless potential. Respectful relationships and an unwavering focus on discovering talents and interests, enable pupils to flourish and be extraordinary people. Together, we spark aspiration and drive achievement, so that pupils contribute positively to society and to their extraordinary futures in an ever-changing world.

What Our Curriculum Aims to Do – A Message for Parents

At the heart of our curriculum is a simple but powerful goal: to give every child an extraordinary education. We want our pupils to grow into thoughtful, responsible global citizens who are ready to thrive in a changing world. That means helping them learn to:

  • Care about the planet and act sustainably
  • Work well with others, both locally and globally
  • Treat everyone fairly and equally
  • Be creative and confident when facing challenges

To achieve this, our curriculum focuses on building strong foundational knowledge—the essential facts, ideas, and skills children need to understand the world and make good decisions. This knowledge isn’t taught just once; children revisit it in different ways and through new experiences, helping them connect ideas and deepen their understanding over time.

Think of it like weaving a tapestry: each strand of knowledge adds strength and meaning to the whole picture. As children learn, they begin to see how everything fits together and why it matters.

We also want children to feel proud of what they achieve and to value the successes of others. A big part of this is helping them make connections between what they learn and their own lives, so they can see the purpose behind their education. In doing so, they start to become the kind of people who can make a positive difference in the world.

Each subject in our curriculum—like science, history, or art—has its own set of key knowledge. These are the building blocks that help children understand the subject deeply. Lessons are carefully planned so that each new topic builds on what they’ve already learned, and helps them apply their knowledge in new ways.

We also use big questions to guide each unit of study. These questions help children see the bigger picture and understand how everything they’re learning connects to real-world ideas and challenges.

As children grow in their knowledge and understanding, they also develop the values and skills they need to become thoughtful, active citizens—ready to make a difference in the world around them.
