Apple Class went on a trip to Dudley Museum, to see the World War One exhibition.
At the museum Kate (their tour guide) gave them a talk about WWI, detailing the life of a child at school during this time.
Next, they split the Class into two. The boys were split into half Germany and half England, to act out the war. Whilst, Maxine was given the special role of a nurse. After that, the boys went up stairs to do their army drill, which included holding fake air rifles. Meanwhile, the girls pretended to have a broken arm, which other girls had to bandage up.
In the afternoon, they split into three groups, to do different activities. Mrs Molloy’s group were designing a new symbol other than a poppy; Mrs Howell’s group looked around the world war one exhibition and Mrs Cole’s group discovered objects in the Officers’ department.
Finally, Apple Class went back to school with some fabulous knowledge of World War One.
