The coin collection organised by the School Council for the people of Haiti was very successful. According to the machine in Sainsbury’s, there were 1286 one pence coins, 591 two pence coins, 695 five pence coins, 212 ten pence coins, 215 twenty pence coins, 62 fifty pence coins, 36 one pound coins and 3 two pound coins making a total of £196.63. The children laid the coins from one end of the hall to the other and wrote Help Haiti in big letters. Thank you to the School Council for organising the event, everyone who brought coins into school and to parents who may have supplied them.
