On Tuesday 21st October, Cedar Class went to three different churches (in Stourport).
First we went to the Baptist church; Paul (our tour guide) played some calm music as we went inside.
Paul asked us if we had any questions, Iona asked, “why are there microphones hanging from the ceiling?” Paul replied, “We have microphones because we sometimes have bands here to play.”
Then we went to have a look at the Baptistery, it was deep. “How do you get water in the Baptistery?” asked Tom. Paul replied, “There is a little compartment with a hose pipe in it.”
After that we had to walk to the next church, St Michael and All Angels, the Church of England church. We met Jo (our tour guide), who gave a little talk about the church. Then she let us walk around and do some sketching. We also had our snacks. We had a look at the graveyard, which was huge - eight acres! There were lots of little collages on the walls of the church, that showed villages nearby, including Great Witley.
We walked to our last church, when Olivia dropped her leaflet and all the cars ran over it. (It has a perfect car tire mark on her leaflet). Father Pat (the priest) showed us around. The Catholic Church was a lot bigger than all the others. There were lots of statues of Jesus, Mary and Joseph.
Then we got on the bus, back to school where we had our lunch at 2:00 pm. What a great day we had!
